New details into the alleged altercation between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2016 reportedly emerge

According to ET, new details have emerged about an alleged domestic violence incident between actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2016.

According to FBI investigative records ET claims to have obtained, Jolie, 47, alleged to FBI officials in an interview that Pitt, 58, “grabbed her by her head” and yelled at her, shook her, and “pushed her into the bathroom wall” during a flight on a private jet in September 2016. All six of their children were present on the flight.

Neither Pitt nor Jolie have publicly commented on the reports that the anonymous 2016 lawsuit filed against the FBI to obtain documents from their federal investigation related to an alleged assault was to do with Pitt and Jolie, but Pitt has previously denied all accusations that previously emerged about the alleged assault.

According to the publication, per the records, Jolie claimed Pitt’s alleged actions scared their children, and prompted one of their children to call their father a “prick,” which Pitt allegedly responded to by approaching the child “like he was going to attack.”

In the documents, Jolie claimed she reacted to this by jumping up and grabbing Pitt around his neck, almost putting him “in a choke hold”. That is when Pitt allegedly threw his body back, which led to Jolie being pushed into the seats on the private jet, which is what caused injuries to her back and elbow.

As previously reported, this is when Jolie claimed in the investigation report that Pitt told her, “You’re f—ing up this family.” When the children asked her if she was alright, Pitt then allegedly responded to them, saying, “No, she’s not OK, she’s ruining this family, she’s crazy.”

Jolie also reportedly claimed Pitt poured beer over her on the flight, and during the flight he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. It was shortly after this incident that Jolie and Pitt got divorced, and Pitt publicly gave up drinking.

The Maleficent star said, per the report, that she felt “scared” and “like a hostage” during the alleged altercation, and when she described her injuries, Jolie said she had a “rug burn-type wound on her right hand,” and also said she could have caused the “scratch” that was on Pitt.

No charges have been filed against Pitt at this time, and weeks after prosecutors decided not to charge him previously, Jolie’s lawyer reportedly told investigators, per the documents, that she was conflicted on if she should be “supportive” of charges.

Per the report, after a meeting in November 2016, the case agent at the FBI wrote that the merits of the investigation were discussed between the case agent and the United States Attorney’s Office, and it was “agreed by all parties that criminal charges in this case would not be pursued due to several factors.”

“In response to allegations made following a flight within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States which landed in Los Angeles carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation. No charges have been filed in this matter,” spokeswoman for the FBI’s Los Angeles field office Laura Eimiller said in a statement released at the time.

According to ET, all parties were sent copies of all the reports regarding the incident at the time. The report’s emerging comes as the former couple are battling in court over their French vineyard.

Jolie and Pitt bought a controlling stake in Château Miraval, a vineyard in the South of France, in 2008. They married there in 2014, and spent several family holidays at the property together with their children.

The couple started dating in 2005. In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce, which was finalised in 2019. They share Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 13.

In 2016, Pitt was reportedly under investigation for child abuse by both the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services after an incident occurred on his family’s private plane. Pitt allegedly got physical with his Maddox after the then-15-year-old intervened in a fight between Pitt and Jolie.

Pitt’s team denied he hurt his son, issuing the following statement to People: “He is emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed. He did not hit his child in the face in any way. He did not do that; he is emphatic about that. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiralling out of control.”
